Can I Question God and Still Have Faith?

After losing Mason, I found myself asking questions I never imagined I would ask.

Why did this happen?

Could something have been done differently?

Will I ever feel safe again?

Where was God?

For a while, I felt guilty for asking these questions.

But then I started noticing something throughout Scripture:

God's people asked questions too.

David asked:"How long, O Lord?" (Psalm 13:1)

Job asked:"Why?"

Habakkuk questioned God's justice.

Even Jesus cried:"My God, my God, why have You forsaken me?"

Questioning isn't the opposite of faith.

Walking away from God with our questions is.

Faith is bringing those questions directly to Him.

Questions can either become walls that separate us from God, or bridges that lead us back to Him.

The difference is where we take them.

Bring them to Him.

He is big enough for your grief. Big enough for your anger. Big enough for your questions.

And loving enough to sit with you while you wait for answers, even if the answers will only come when you reach Heaven.
